Smyrna Report Card : Temporary Persecution

Hello there Smyrna. Jesus here.

Below is your report card. I’ve given a bit of additional feedback also.

I Relate To Your Suffering

You are heavily persecuted. Suffering. I understand the pain you are going through. Remember, I am the one that died and came back to life. You do not have a God that cannot understand what you are going through. You have a God that knows and has experienced that hard persecution you are taking.

Your suffering is unjust. Just like mine. Keep going hard, endure it. Don’t give up. Persecution is expected if you live a godly life.

You Need to Live the Cross-Before-Crown-Life

I don’t know if you have realised this yet, but you must go through the exact pattern I went through. You need to live the Cross-shaped life now. You need to pick up your life daily. Then, only then, you will get the Crown of life.

Don’t fall in the trap of thinking that you have the full-fledged crown life now. You don’t. Just like I really was the king walking around on earth, I was still the scum of the earth. Don’t fall in the trap of thinking you will be healthy and wealthy and popular today. They will mock you and spit on you. Smyrna. Persecution is part of the Christian life.

But it is
only temporary.

Jesus to Smyrna

Your persecution ends when you die and see me. Then you will be kings and queens with me. You will not be hurt by the second death. You will conquer.

Before you go high, you must go low.

Just like me.

“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write:
‘The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life.
“‘I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.’
